Desmond Poon
Head of Home Solutions & Architecture Network Engineering
Desmond heads the Home Solutions & Architecture Network Engineering team at StarHub and is responsible for the planning, implementation, 24x7 operation, and maintenance of all IP and TV related technology areas within StarHub spanning across Digital Cable TV, Terrestrial TV, Cable Broadband, Business IP, Transmission, and NGNBN (Next Generation National Broadband Network) services. He also oversees the overall network technology planning and strategies across all major engineering platforms in StarHub including Mobile and Fixed Networks.
Desmond has played a key role in the development of the StarHub Digital TV services, enabling more than 130 HD & SD channels, alongside with whole suite of interactive TV applications such as Video-on-Demand and Digital Video Recorder. He was also instrumental in integrating the business and residential IP teams to create greater synergies and operational efficiencies, and helped architect the NGNBN services.
